[Spring] How to install Spring STS4

Installing Spring STS

The spring STS is an eclipse with a spring framework plug-in. Download and extract the spring STS installation file from the link below. Then paste the extracted folder into the C drive.

https://spring.io/tools

Run the SpringToolSuite4 installation file.

Specify the path to install the workspace, check the checkbox below, and proceed with the installation.

When the installation is complete, the eclipse runs as above.

Since STS4 version only has a spring boot installed, it installs the STS3 version plug-in that includes a regular spring. From the Help tab, enter Marketplace and search for springs.

Install the STS3 version plugin.

Press Confirm to proceed with the installation.

Check Accept and proceed with the installation.

This results in a progress bar at the bottom of the Eclipse indicating that the installation is in progress. When the installation is complete, enter the window as preferences.

In the search bar, type workspace and enter workspace to change the settings at the bottom to UTF-8.

Similarly, it searches for Spelling and changes it to UTF-8 setting.

It also changes HTML, CSS to UTF-8 settings.

From the Help tab, enter Install new software. Under work with, select the path where https://download.eclipse.org/releases entered.

Type java web in the search window, select it as shown in the picture, and proceed with the installation.

The jsp also sets the encoding to uf-8 as well.
